Bridal Shower Invitations

I've been creating handmade cards and invitations for years, and I finally started taking pictures to keep a portfolio of sorts. I am constantly looking online for new ideas and inspiration. I always begin with Paper Source stationery because of the fine quality and coordinating accessories.

Susan's Shower

I wanted to try something a little different for the invitation above, so I used a #10 flat card in Papaya and layered it with Cement and Superfine White cover stock. I also used #10 business-size envelopes in the new color Slate.

I used 1.25" circle labels in Cement for the return address and oval labels in Eco White for the guests' addresses (not shown). I also carried over the font style on the mailing labels, so the guests' names were written in the orange script and the street addresses were written in gray block text just like the invite.

Overall, this was a pretty easy invitation to make. The layout took some time to perfect, but after the printing was complete, there was just a little cutting and assembling to finish them off.

Molly's Shower

I designed the invitation above for my sister-in-law, Molly. Since I was also a bridesmaid in her wedding and was co-hosting her bridal shower,  I made coordinating Thank You notes to make things a little easier for her.

For the invitations I used A9 flat cards in Chocolate and layered with Superfine White cover stock from Paper Source. I used A2 folded note cards in Superfine White for the Thank You notes and 1/4" satin ribbon in Chocolate and Blossom for the cards.

I found the decorative card stock at Great Scraps in Millersville, Maryland. They have an amazing assortment of 12x12 paper for scrapbooking, plus hundreds of accessories.

The hardest part on this invitation was tying the bow on the invites...my fingers were a little sore when I was done. I shifted to a square knot for the note cards, which was a lot easier, and stamped "grateful" on the note card. It was a really easy card to make.

I used oval labels from Paper Source for guests' addresses and made an extra set for the Thank You notes to save Molly some time. I printed her return address on the envelopes and added a postage stamp too. All she needed to do was write the note and lick the envelope. She was very grateful!
