Baby Shower Invitations

Molly's Baby Shower

The above baby shower invitation is by far my favorite creation. My mom hosted the shower for my sister-in-law, Molly, with help from my sister and me. My mom envisioned a clothesline hanging like a banner across her living room with all the little outfits she purchased for my nephew. Instead, I made one with paper (see Baby Shower Decorations post) and carried her idea to the invitation.

I couldn't find a punch I liked, so I borrowed a friend's Cameo Silhouette Machine. So awesome!!! It was really easy to find an image I liked on their website, and it was only $0.99 to download! Then I just repeated the design in order to cut 60 onesies on a single sheet of 12x12 decorative paper.

I found coordinating papers at Great Scraps in Millersville, MD. I used bookbinding thread to string through the cut-outs, and I double-layered the onesies to give a 3-D effect using dimensional foam adhesive strips.

I used A9 flat cards and A2 folded note cards in Pool from Paper Source for the invitation backing and Thank You notes. I layered both cards using Pure White cover stock. For the Thank You note I also stamped "Many Thanks" in Colorbox Robins Egg pigment ink and clear embossed to give a lacquered effect.

I'm not going to lie...these cards took a LONG time to create, but they were well worth it!

Below is a preview of the clothesline banner I made for the shower with the same decorative papers as the invitation.

Andrea's Baby Shower

My friend Andrea's baby shower invitation was based on her nursery design, which was a jungle/safari theme. I used a picture of her bedding as the inspiration for this invitation.

I found really cute clear acrylic stamps that matched her theme. Plus the stamps were designed to used in stages, enabling me to use multiple ink colors to produce each animal. It took a while to find the right color combination, but I think the end result was really cute. I used ink from Stampin' Up! and paper from Paper Source.

I also made coordinating Thank You notes that included Andrea's return address on the envelopes along with labels with guests' addresses to save her some time.

Jennifer's Baby Shower

For Jennifer's shower invitations and Thank You notes I used Blossom, Gravel, and Pure White cover stock from Paper Source.

The text was printed, but the flowers were stamped and embossed using a Stampin Up! stamp set I've had forever.
